Collective Anarchy
Beyond bands, and zines, punx in Baltimore in the 90's formed many different anarchist collectives with names like Western Maryland Anarchist Collective, One W@y Collective, Anarchist Revival Movement, Frederick Anarchist Group, and more... Many of which were inspired by the work of the Crasshole Collective who itself formed out of the Baltimore Anarchist Collective and the Anarchist Youth Federation.
The Crasshole Collective, which I was part of forming, runs through much of this section of the site, from booking many of the shows, members playing in many of the bands, running labels and distros and putting out zines. My zine called Disorderly Conduct during the 90's was taken over by the collective for a few issues. The Crasshole Collective also put out a newsletter for a time called The Crasshole Conspiracy. The Crasshole Collective progressed with A//Political and initiated the founding of the Anarcho Punk Federation which at its height had 60 different affiliate groups all over the world. We took on the responsibility of running the APF and publishing the APF newspaper Counter Culture (which you can see images of here). The Crasshole Collective organized and bought its own PA for shows, recorded bands to be released (crappily i might add, but hey we tried) and also ran Crasshole Records which released several tapes and records.
Beyond our own collectives, Baltimore Anarcho Punx were involved with Food Not Bombs, Anarchist Black Cross, Anti-fascist work, Free Mumia work, Animal Rights groups, and other organizing.
Below are some images what info I could find on some of these different collectives and groups. Please get in touch if you have other scanned images or documents that should be up here! -Angel

BLACK AGGIES
In the late 90's Baltimore Punx squatted a derilict building on Hollins Street as a music venue. Initially called The Laugh and Spit, its name was changed to Black Aggies (after Baltimore legend of a 'witch' executed in Baltimore). Many great shows in SoWeBo (southwest Baltimore) took place here, as well as at the nearby Sushi Cafe. In its final days, threatened with eviction over noise, members of a local Anarchist collective I was in called Nosotros Group and folks with the Crasshole Collective decided to turn the space into an anarchist infoshop and living space (yes several of us planned on living in that shithole!), we did tons of work, hauling out garbage, patching walls, sweeping etc... and eventually after some of us went traveling to the west coast for a month or two got locked out anyways by the owners. I hear its renovated and all fancy now. eh.
