Baltimore had many Anarcho oriented bands in the 90's, I will try and upload as much info, photos, and music as I can here!

COEXIST - my first punk band. We released two demo tapes in the early 90's. We were pretty punk so we thought. We were asked to do a split with The Pist once. We couldn't get it together enough to be bothered. We were banned from nearly every mall in the Baltimore area for being obnoxious. We played the Philly Anarchist Gathering in 93 and one of the Beer Olympics in NYC. Crazy times.
This first set is from the 'Fuck The Rich' demo recordings. its missing some of the songs including the title song, but I don't have a copy of the actual tape. If someone does get in touch so I can get a copy!

This second set is from our second cassette 'Punk Will Never Die as Long as Some of Us Continue to Fight.' the actual tape had about every 80's movie soundbite you can imagine between songs. i edited it down to just the music. much less annoying. I also don't have a copy of this. sad.

DA NUFFINKS - inspired by the likes of Disorder, Chaos UK, Rudimentary Peni, The Masked Men, Warhammer, and lots and lots of cider and soaped up spikey hair, I was in this band between Coexist and A//Political. Was concurrently in this band and the first version of A//political spelled A-political. punk. recorded a shitty unreleased demo called Ekendon. Towards the end there are some practice recordings of later songs, which I would say sound even better than the "recorded" songs.... While the band was definitely of the anarcho variety with songs against prisons (Human Zoo), for animal rights (Chained Enslaved), and GLTBQ rights (Merry Men); no doubt the politics were about being snotty and drunk and apparently "english". Enjoy!

A-POLITICAL - not to be confused with A//Political. This band had a tumultuous existence with too many members. never recorded. later when a stable line up was found, and my being the only original member we added the slashes and wrote all new songs. I will put A//Political at the end of all these bands because i've got much more to put up regarding that one!

FLAG FALLEN - another great Baltimore peace punk band! one of my favorites for sure. I recorded them on the Crasshole Collective 8track and helped with the demos booklet, which unfortunately I do not have a copy of. Anyone got any scans contact me and I'll put them up here. Unfortunately I can't find any pictures either. Here is a flyer from a great show A//political played with them. Andy from Flag Fallen went on to be in A//political, Josh went on to be in Subsist, and Bob went on to be in A//political, Programme, Inure, Pilgrim and other bands.
13th GEN - another political crust band I was in in the 90's for a short while. I played bass in this one! we recorded these three songs with me, after I left the band they got much better and recorded in a studio a full length released on cassette! Would love to get to hear it if anyone has a copy!!

ELEVENTH HOUR CONFESSION - noisy 90s screamy hardcore ala Born Against. some of the nicer and older punks did it well. Some moved to Portland, some to Philly, not sure where the rest. Jon the drummer was an amazing photographer, I might have some of his photos on the photos page, hopefully I'll get more soon!
CONTROL - anarcho punk from western maryland with a hip hop flair (?) Released a split 7" with Project A. Maybe a cassette. I know they did an awesome version of Crass's 'we ain't thick' i had it somewhere. Will try to find.
OBJECTION TO OPPRESSION - probably my favorite of the 90's Baltimore anarcho punk bands. Members went onto many different projects including Oak, Pilgrim, Moonshine, Inure... Don't think they released anything. Here is a crappy 'demo' i recorded through Crasshole.
NO KERISMA - Baltimore's legendary crust band. Members went on to form Station (still playing in Baltimore). Russ, the drummer, sings in Station, was in the original A-political drummer and drummed for Da Nuffinks. They also broke Jordan's wrist at a punx picnic.
OCHLOCRACY - 'i hate mini vans, i hate mini vans!' crusty anarcho hardcore from baltimore. Released one demo. Just Dave sang in Wake Up On Fire and currently is in Nux Vomica. Don't know what happened to the others.
FEMA EO12148 - as the dreadlocks sprouted amongst the spikey haired so did the metal influence. Inspired by the likes of Axegrinder and Amebix, with some german hardcore influence thrown in ala ACME and ABC Diablo. We broke up when the others moved to Portland, with me to follow a year later to sleep on their couch. Never released anything.
U.S. WAR COMMISSION - Baltimore's only D-beat band? fast simple fucking badass. Members of FEMA and A//Political. Released one demo. Folks were involved with Black Aggies, the Crasshole Collective and other stuffs.
PROGRAMME - After A//Political officially broke up, me and the bass player (bob) drummer (Andy) formed a three piece called Programme (all the spanish anarchists needed were a 'programme and guns', get it?) We played a few shows, the highlight being with Tragedy. Then I moved to Portland. Never recorded never released nothing. Here is some practice tunes.

THE CONTRACEPTIVES - the more chaotic element (ie. not as boring as nosotros) of the late 90's came in the form of Sub Haus. Who were the counterpart to Nosotros House (my house) up the street. Both collective houses worked with others to set up the SoWeBo Community Kitchen and to do Mumia and Antifa and A16 (and other anti-capitalist) organizing. Some of them were in this band The Contraceptives. Not sure if they released anything. A//Political played with them a few times.
2AM REVOLUTION - formed shortly into the 2000s but I am including them. Members of Control came together with Kasey and Little Bob and Marty from Objection to Oppression to form this dual female fronted anarcho inspired band. Released one cassette I think. Will try and find.
SUB-CLASS - popular anarcho punk from Bel Air. Recorded one demo.
THE AGENDA - Another north of the city anarcho band with more of a Bad Religion sound. great stuff. don't know what happened to them, but I loved seeing them live!
SOCIETY'S MISTAKE - I remember them playing a show or two. I know one of the members has since passed away. I remember having high hopes for them and them being rad kids.
_FIVE DAYS LATE - Riot Grrl punk from Towson? I remember thinking
they were rad too. don't know if they recorded though. I think the
singer is the lady on the left below.
PROJECT A - hailing from Bel Air MD this band bridged hardcore with crust and released one cassette and one split 7". Members were involved with The Crasshole Collective, and MD Anti Racist Action. If Anyone has their recordings send them to me so I can upload them!
AND FREEDOM FOR ALL - I remember seeing them and thinking they were rad. Don't know if they ever released anything or recorded. Found this picture on the Keep Maryland Punk FB page...
THE PERTURBED - I know they played alot. Again don't remember much about them. Definitely part of the Bel Air punk crew. Check out this video from 1997.

A//POLITICAL - we released one demo cassette, two 7"s (one on Profane Existence) and one split 7", were on several comps including 'why must we die for your science 7" comp. The Discography is available through me, email me at [email protected]. Below are some songs and some photos. punk.
